01 / How we work

Start with the need.
Build the right amount.

Every project is different. We keep the process simple: understand the goal, test the direction when needed, then build it properly.

01First step

Discovery and scope

No cost

We learn what you need, who it is for, and what success looks like. Then we recommend the simplest sensible route.

  • Goals and audience defined
  • Scope and technical needs mapped
  • Timeline and budget agreed
02Validation phase

Functional preview

Agreed in writing

When useful, we create a focused working preview. You can see the idea, test the key journey, and refine it before the full build.

  • Core journey made testable
  • Clear limits and assumptions
  • A stronger plan for production
03Agreed plan

Paid production build

Bespoke proposal

We build the agreed solution for launch, from a simple site to a full product. You know the scope, price, and responsibilities before work begins.

  • Security hardening and load readiness
  • CI/CD, monitoring, and handover docs
  • Ongoing support or a clean handoff to your team

Flexible enough for simple or complex work

Some clients need a clear, effective website. Others need a platform, app, automation, or infrastructure. The approach changes with the problem; the care does not.

A preview is optional, not a hurdle. We use it when it can save time, reduce uncertainty, or make a complex idea easier to judge.

Rugged Shagreen · Gold Brass

Talos Luxury Panels

One of the hand-poured metallic finishes shown on the site we designed and built.

View site

A bespoke site for a UK manufacturer of handcrafted, textured metallic wall panels. The brief called for a build as tactile as the product itself: large-format photography, restrained typography, and generous whitespace, so the finishes—not the interface—do the talking. We designed and built it end to end, from product presentation through to checkout, for a brand where every panel is poured and finished by hand.

04 / The studio

Bespoke without
the bloat.

Cached Minds is an independent Bournemouth studio. We make websites and digital products that fit the business—not an agency package.

Quiet proof still counts. Client work is published only with permission, and outcomes only when they can be substantiated.

01

Right-sized from the start

We recommend what the project needs—not the largest scope we can sell.

02

One joined-up team

Strategy, design, and engineering stay connected from the first call to launch.

03

Built for you to own

Clear handover, documentation, and deployment keep ownership with your business.

04

Plain advice

If a simpler, cheaper, or existing solution is better, we will say so.

Questions / answered plainly

Before you
reach out.

The most common questions about how we work, priced and scoped the same way we'd answer them in a call.

Do you offer fixed packages?
No. Every project is scoped to what it actually needs, then priced as a bespoke proposal — not fitted into a pre-built package or template.
Is the first step chargeable?
No. Discovery and scoping is free. We learn what you need, map the technical requirements, and agree a timeline and budget before any paid work starts.
What is a functional preview?
An optional, agreed-in-writing stage used when it adds value — a focused working preview of the core journey, so an idea can be tested and refined before the full production build.
What kind of projects do you take on?
Anything from a clear, effective website to a full platform, app, automation, or infrastructure build. The approach changes with the problem; the care does not.
Who owns the finished product?
You do. Every build includes clear handover, documentation, and deployment so ownership stays with your business, with a clean handoff or ongoing support as agreed.
Where are you based, and who do you work with?
Cached Minds is an independent studio based in Bournemouth, Dorset, working with businesses across the UK.
